Friday, July 1 @ 6:30 there will be a flash mob in Binns Park downtown… see it live!
Thanks to Rob Seitz, our Visual Arts Director, and the kids we worked with at the YWCA, you can now enjoy our piano located at the YWCA! Not only does it have the best seat in town (one of our junkyard drumming buckets) but the kids artwork is pretty sweet: “Music Is Life” was their theme with ‘heads up’ paintings and ‘peace/ piece’ notes all around. Enjoy the sneak peak!
Thanks to the generosity of many, Heads Up can now purchase instruments for our rapidly growing music programs. Music Arts Director Tim Riggs was stoked to hear about the $2,250 grant! Thanks MFE for your support and we will keep everyone in the loop how the dollars are making a difference!
Coming to a school or church near you, thanks to some great local artists and a generous grant from Music For Everyone:
Making Waves – students use all their vocal abilities to make amazing songs come to life without the use of any instruments… strictly vocal chords. It may sound like there is drums, guitars, violins and trumpets but it is awesome power of sound waves from the heart!
Only age 11, singing her first solo, Chavela Reyes sang “God Bless America” and stunned a 7th inning crowd at Lancaster Barnstormers! Watch her debut video here! Leave a comment to encourage her amazing talent!
Thanks to a generous grant from Music For Everyone, our Street Beats program was able to buy DJ equipment for our classes! The picture above is the actual equipment we purchased at a reduced cost thanks to generosity of Best Buy Lancaster!
Thanks MFE and Best Buy! DJ Image and DJ Elmo and the youth of Heads Up now have sweet stuff to spin and scratch!
